The Vall d'Incles is a mountain valley in Canillo parish, Andorra, entered between the villages of El Tarter and Soldeu, and known for its beautiful scenery. It lies about 5.5 km in a straight line from the church of Sant Joan de Caselles. The valley opens to the northeast, with the Cabana Sorda lake at its head, and from here walkers reach the Juclar lake, the largest in Andorra. The Catalan poet Jacint Verdaguer mentions the valley in his epic poem «Canigó». Broad grassy meadows stretch beneath the rocky peaks of the Pyrenees, snow lingers on the slopes into early summer and is mirrored in the mountain lakes. Pine woods fill the lower valley, and horses graze the green meadows in summer. Part of the way can be driven on a narrow road, and the climb to the first lake is not especially hard, though it takes about two hours. In winter the valley is cut off by snow, so plan a visit for summer or early autumn and bring warm layers and water.
