Villa Ventana is a small hill village between two streams in the Ventania ranges of southwest Buenos Aires province, about 17 kilometres from the town of Sierra de la Ventana, beneath the peaks and among pine woods. The village is quiet, with shaded dirt streets, country houses and cabins to stay in, and artisans working stone, wood, metal, ceramics and leather who show their work in homes open to visitors. Trails start here along the streams and into the hills, and it is close to Tornquist park and the climb up Cerro Ventana. Wandering is free; it makes a quiet base for a few days exploring the area, especially in spring and autumn.
