A mountain area in the Taihang range on the border of Shanxi and Henan, in Jincheng's Lingchuan County and a national geopark. By legend it takes its name from Wang Mang, said to have camped here at the end of the Western Han. It is known for soaring cliffs, seas of cloud and sunrise over the peaks, and in the neighbouring Xiyagou valley a 7.5 km road was cut through the cliff by the villagers themselves, with hammers over thirty years, its rock windows hanging over the drop. Tickets cost CNY 80, 110 with the Xiyagou valley, with the shuttle bus at CNY 50, open from 8 am to 6 pm, per visitor guides; it is worth staying a night to see the sunrise.
