A beach and resort area on Daya Bay in Huidong County, part of Huizhou, east of the Pearl River Delta. Its coast runs for more than twenty kilometres with eight small bays, known for strange rocks, clear water and white sand, which earned it the nickname «green jade». Its people were once fishermen and farmers, and since the 1990s it has become a holiday spot for Guangdong families. Along the rocky shore lies Mozishi park with its sea-carved boulders, and more than thirty rock inscriptions are scattered around the bay; dozens of small islands dot the sea, among them Sanjiaozhou, reached by speedboat, and there is a folk-culture street around the Tianhou temple. The beach, Mozishi park and the folk street charge nothing, while Sanjiaozhou island costs about CNY 100 without the boat, per visitor guides. Seafood is the local food, so ask about pork in sauces and fillings.
