A historic tower on the bank of the Yangtze in Jiujiang whose first building date is unknown, though the Tang poets Wei Yingwu and Bai Juyi mention it in their verse, and it is famous from the classic novel «Water Margin», in which the hero Song Jiang writes his famous rebel poem on its wall. The Jiujiang government rebuilt the tower in 1989 on 1,600 square metres, 21 metres tall under several tiers of curving roofs; from its balconies visitors look out over the broad river and passing ships, and it lights up at night on the riverbank. Entry is free from 25 September 2026 to 24 September 2027 under a Jiujiang tourism promotion, and it is open from 8.30 am to 9 pm, per visitor guides.
