A tropical rainforest in the hills north of Sanya, in Baoting Li and Miao Autonomous County; its tourist zone covers 45 square kilometres of a protected forest of 123 square kilometres, and it gained China's top 5A tourism rating in 2012. Its name, «Yanoda», means «one, two, three» in the Hainan dialect, and staff use it as a greeting for hello and goodbye; the main trail in Rainforest Valley follows boardwalks among giant trees, aerial roots, climbing vines and tree ferns. Dreamland Valley is a 1.2-kilometre gorge dropping 200 metres, where three waterfalls follow one another between the rocks, with a trail that wades along the stream; the zone also offers activities such as a zip line over the forest and a glass platform. Tickets including the zone bus both ways are about CNY 168 from October to April and about CNY 150 from May to September, with last entry around 17:00, per visitor guides. The air is humid and the paths wet, so wear comfortable shoes and bring insect repellent; plan on half a day.
