One of China's largest karst caves, in the Wulingyuan area, covering about 48 hectares; its system runs about 15 km over four levels, with thirteen chambers, three underground waterfalls, two underground rivers and a lake. Its chambers are filled with stalactites, stalagmites and limestone columns in astonishing shapes lit by coloured lights; the largest chamber covers about 4,000 square metres and the highest waterfall drops 50 m. The guided tour takes about two hours and includes a boat ride on the underground river among the rock formations; the cave welcomes more than a million visitors a year. Tickets are about CNY 125 including the boat, per visitor guides. The floor is damp and sometimes slippery, so wear comfortable shoes; it's mild inside all year, making it a good choice on rainy days.
