A large cultural park on the shore of Dian Lake in southwest Kunming showing the cultures of 26 of the peoples of Yunnan, China's most diverse province, through their architecture, customs, costumes and arts, over about 89 hectares, 31 of them water. Each people has a small village of traditional houses, from the stilted timber homes of the Dai to the white houses of the Bai and the villages of the Yi, Naxi, Hani and others, where young people wear their traditional dress. The villages hold dance, song and folk-festival performances through the day, with local food to taste and handicrafts to buy, and big evening shows on some days. Tickets are about CNY 90 by day, 09:00–18:00, and 50 in the evening, per visitor guides. Allow half a day; Dian Lake and Haigeng Dam are next door.
