An hour for the garden and the view. Walking between all three Elbe palaces and their gardens takes about two. Combine it with a river trip or a walk along the Elbe bank.
A tram east from central Dresden along Bautzner Straße, about fifteen minutes, then a short walk. By car there is parking nearby. The distance is short and access easy.

Albrechtsberg is one of three palaces standing on the slope above the Elbe east of Dresden, known together as the Elbe castles. A Prussian prince built it in the 1850s in classical style, with a large garden terracing down towards the river. The garden is open to everyone free of charge, and is the main reason to come: paths, terraces, a fountain and a fine view over the Elbe valley. The palace interior is used for concerts and events, and only opens to visitors on announced tours or occasions. Check the official site if you want to go inside.
