No โ built in 1910 during Bruges' romantic restoration era, but in old stone and the city's spirit, so only an expert tells. What surrounds it is original: the palace, the church, the walls. Do not let that lessen its beauty โ it is the loveliest short stop on the southern route.

The Bonifacius Bridge is Bruges' smallest and most romantic bridge: a little stone arch over a narrow canal behind the Church of Our Lady and the Gruuthuse palace, shaded by trees and enclosed by old stone walls and medieval houses โ it looks like one of the city's oldest corners, and in fact dates from 1910, but was built with the spirit of old Bruges and great care. Its charm lies in its angle: from it you see the brick tower of the Church of Our Lady rising above the palace roofs, the canal flowing beneath the branches, and the small Arentshof garden beside it with its bronze statues โ a still corner steps from the most crowded places. It is said to be Bruges' most famous spot for romantic photographs. Free, two minutes from the Church of Our Lady โ a short stop on the southern route between the Rozenhoedkaai and the Beguinage.
