The headquarters of China Central Television, a 51-storey skyscraper on the East Third Ring Road in Beijing's central business district, formed by two leaning towers joined at the top and the bottom in a continuous loop, designed by Rem Koolhaas and Ole Scheeren of OMA with engineers from Arup. Building began in 2004 and the façade was completed in January 2008; in 2013 the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat named it the best tall building in the world, and locals nickname it «Big Pants» for its shape. The building is not open to visitors, but it can be seen well from the surrounding streets of the business district, especially Guanghua Road, and in the evening when its façade is lit.
