A shopping centre in Chaoyang, just west of the China World Trade Center, known in Chinese as Xiushui. More than 1,700 small stalls over several floors sell clothes, silk, bags, shoes, pearls, tea and souvenirs, and it is one of Beijing's best-known markets among foreign visitors. Bargaining is part of the experience, as first prices tend to be high, and many sellers speak English and other languages. Much of the stock is well known to imitate famous brands, so buy what you like for itself rather than for its label. Entry is free, and it is open daily from 9.30 am to 9 pm, per visitor guides; Yong'anli station on metro Line 1 is at its door.
