A Chinese temple complex on a rocky forested slope of Genting Highlands, about fourteen hundred metres up, built on twenty-eight acres of land donated by the founder of the Genting resort after he completed the resort in 1975. It honours Chin Swee, a monk from China's Fujian province revered by his followers for centuries. The complex is known for its landmarks on the slope: a multi-storey pagoda, a huge seated Buddha statue overlooking the valley, and a path of statues illustrating moral teachings according to their beliefs. But what draws most visitors is the view: Genting's forests and the clouds below you, and cool, fresh air. Entry is free; it is a place of worship, so be respectful and dress modestly. It is about ten minutes' drive below the peak, and the Awana Skyway cable car has a middle station at the temple, so you can stop here and continue your ride. For Arab visitors it is more a beautiful mountain viewpoint than a religious destination, and an hour is enough. Come in the morning before fog covers the slopes, and bring a jacket: it is much cooler here than in Kuala Lumpur.
