A cluster of hills in north-central Guilin on the west bank of the Li River whose name means «Folded Brocade Hill», as its horizontal rock layers look like bolts of silk folded one on another; it's also called Wind Cave Hill, after a cave where the wind blows all year round. It is made up of four heights, the tallest being Bright Moon Peak, and Guilin people have long called it «where the river and mountain views meet»; it's thickly wooded and dotted with traditional Chinese pavilions for a rest. A stone stairway climbs through the Wind Cave to the summit, which has one of the finest views over Guilin: the winding river and karst hills scattered among the city's buildings to the horizon, with the old Mulong ferry landing on the river at its foot. Tickets are about CNY 25, or about 45 combined with Fubo Hill, per visitor guides. The climb takes about half an hour; come just before sunset on a clear day.
