A living history museum of Viking and medieval Dublin in the historic Synod Hall beside Christ Church Cathedral, linked to it by a famous covered stone bridge over the street; it opened in 1993. It recreates Viking houses and medieval streets at full scale, and actors in period costume put on live shows that visitors join, bringing to life the world of warriors, traders and craftsmen. You can try on costumes and armour, see how people lived, worked and were treated when sick, and learn about archaeology through finds from the city's excavations, which makes it a good stop for families and children. Adult tickets are about €16–18, with a discount for booking online, per visitor guides. It pairs easily with neighbouring Christ Church Cathedral in a single visit.
