The Morro de São Paulo lighthouse stands on the hilltop above the village, where the fortress's first chapel once stood. It was built in the mid-19th century and for more than a century guided ships into the Bay of All Saints. The trail up is short but steep, 20 to 30 minutes, with no guide or fee needed. The lookout beside it gives a full view over the turquoise water of First and Second Beach and is one of Morro de São Paulo's favourite sunset spots, and you can walk down afterwards to the fortress ruins. The tirolesa, a zipline about 57 metres high and 340 metres long, runs from the lighthouse down into the water at First Beach; the ride lasts about twenty seconds and costs R$60 to R$85.
