A valley of streams and woods west of West Lake, also called «Nine Creeks and Eighteen Gullies», one of the New Ten Scenes of West Lake, running from Longjing village in the north to Jiuxi village in the south. The waters of nine small valleys gather into a stream about seven kilometres long between forests and tea gardens, crossed by the path on stepping stones, and Zhejiang University's yearly long-distance hike follows it. Walking it is free at any hour; the paved path beside the stream suits a half-day outing, it combines well with Longjing village and its tea terraces, and in autumn the trees around the pools turn colour.
