Round the lake.
Lago del Fuerte is a man-made lake in Tandil, created behind a dam between two hills after floods of the Langueyú stream badly damaged the city in 1951; it became both flood protection and a favourite place for a stroll. A long promenade circles the lake among trees and rocky hills, busy with walkers, runners and cyclists, and its shores hold cafés, restaurants and water-sports clubs for rowing and small sailing boats. At sunset the sky's light reflects on the water between the hills. It is free and open, a few minutes from the centre, and pairs with the Moving Stone in a day.
