Part of the family home of Li Hongzhang, one of the leading statesmen of the late Qing dynasty, in the heart of Hefei; it is the largest surviving home of a famous figure in the city, covering 2,000 square metres in the late-Qing architectural style of the Jianghuai region. The house became a provincial protected monument in 1998, opened to visitors after restoration on 27 September 1999, and was listed as a national monument in 2013. Visitors pass from the gate to the front hall with an exhibition on his life, then the middle hall showing his calligraphy and letters, and on to a two-storey building at the back furnished with Qing-era furniture to show daily life of the time. Entry is free, Wednesday to Sunday from 9 am to 4.30 pm, closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, per visitor guides.
