A park in the north-east corner of old Hefei, about 20 hectares in size and one of the city's «ten views». In ancient times it was a ferry crossing on the Fei River of the same name, and the old Feiji Bridge stands outside it. The spot is famed as the scene of one of the best-known battles of the Three Kingdoms era, when the general Zhang Liao drove back Sun Quan's forces near this ford in 215, a story made famous by the novel «Romance of the Three Kingdoms»; a small mound on one of the lake islands is said to be Zhang Liao's cenotaph. Entry is free; lakes, islands, bridges and shaded paths popular with families spread across it, a short way from the city centre.
