A green hill on the edge of the mountain town of Ella, said to be named for its likeness to the famous Adam's Peak. It is one of the easiest and most beautiful walks in the hill country, good for families and anyone after a gentle hike. The trail starts from Passara Road at the edge of town and runs through neatly terraced tea gardens before climbing a series of steps to the top. The climb takes about 45 minutes, per visitor guides. From the summit a wide view opens over the Ella Gap towards the southern plains, across to Ella Rock and the forested hills, and a chain of grassy knolls lets you carry on walking along the ridge. The walk is free. It is loveliest at sunrise or early in the morning before the clouds gather; bring water and comfortable shoes. Near the foot of the hill an adventure park runs a zip line over the valley for thrill-seekers.
