Macau's tallest structure, a tower 338 metres high on the shore of Sai Van Lake in the south of the peninsula; it opened in December 2001 and, with the skyscrapers around it, is the most prominent landmark on the city's skyline. Its observation deck looks out over all of Macau, its bridges and the islands of Taipa and Coloane, as well as the neighbouring Chinese city of Zhuhai, and glass panels in the floor let visitors stand above the drop. The tower is famous for adventure activities: from its outer rim at 233 metres launches the world's highest commercial bungee jump, and there is also a walk around the outer edge on safety lines; at its base are restaurants, a theatre and convention halls. An adult ticket for the observation deck is about MOP 208, with the adventure activities charged separately at much higher prices, per visitor guides. The best time is just before sunset, when the city lights up below.
