The Ukrainian Memorial was set up in 1995 in Curitiba's Parque Tingui to honour Ukrainian immigration to Paraná state. It is a replica of the oldest Ukrainian church in Brazil, São Miguel da Serra do Tigre in Mallet, built of wood in the Byzantine style, with a bell tower beside it. The park itself opened in 1994 on 380,000 square metres along the Barigui river and is named after the Tingui people who lived in the area. Entry is free; the memorial opens Tuesday to Sunday 10:00-18:00.
