The San Telmo Market is a large covered market at the heart of San Telmo, designed by the engineer-architect Juan Antonio Buschiazzo, with its main hall opened in 1897 and two wings added in 1930. Under its tall iron roof with glass panels, old fruit and vegetable stalls now mix with antique dealers and cafés. Here you find old records, cameras, silverware and mate gourds, vintage furniture and posters, alongside coffee and food stalls. It is a fine place to wander and to photograph its domed iron frame. Entry is free. It is steps from Plaza Dorrego, and on Sundays the neighbourhood fills with the big street fair along Defensa.
