Over a century old.
The Indaiatuba Railway Museum occupies the city's old station and opened in 2004 as the «Estação Indaiatuba Cultural Space». Beside it stands the first station, built by the Ytuana railway in 1873, while the larger building the museum occupies was put up by the Sorocabana company in 1911, a date still marked on the platform wall. Passenger services ended in 1977, and the last freight trains passed in 1990. The museum's star is Ytuana locomotive no. 1, «Regina», parked in the yard and said to be still able to run after more than a century. The museum also shows photographs, documents and equipment that tell the history of the railways in the region and their part in the growth of towns along the coffee lines. It is a short visit that suits families and train lovers.
