Indaiatuba Ecological Park, officially the Mayor Dr. Clain Ferrari Ecological Park, is the main urban park of Indaiatuba near Campinas. Its first stage opened in 1992, and it was originally planned by the noted architect Ruy Ohtake. The park runs along almost the entire length of the Barnabé stream, flanked by the two carriageways of Avenida Engenheiro Fábio Roberto Barnabé. It was named in 1991 after President Fernando Collor in thanks for federal funding, a name revoked in 1994 after his impeachment. It holds small woods, lakes and gardens, with long paths for walking, running and cycling and facilities for sport, leisure and culture along its length, making it the green heart of daily life in the town. Entry is free, and early morning and late afternoon are the nicest times.
