The best-known experience at Niagara Falls, a boat trip from the Canadian bank up the Niagara River to the foot of the Horseshoe Falls, into the heart of the spray and thunder, one of the most famous sightseeing boat rides in the world. The boat sets off near the Rainbow Bridge and passes the American Falls and the small Bridal Veil Falls, then pushes into the Horseshoe basin, where a wall of falling water surrounds it on three sides and clouds of spray engulf it. Passengers wear red rain ponchos handed out before boarding, yet many still get wet, which is part of the fun. The trip lasts about twenty minutes, and boats leave roughly every fifteen minutes in season. Tickets are about C$47.95 per adult, per visitor guides, and cruises run in the warm season from spring to autumn, not in winter. A timed booking saves queuing in summer.
