The Oceanogràfic is Europe's largest aquarium without rival: five hundred species and forty-five thousand creatures in a complete water city within the Arts and Sciences complex, its wings dividing the world's oceans — Arctic belugas in the ice pavilion to tropical sharks in the seventy-metre tunnel, the continent's longest. Spectacle meets science: dolphins in Europe's biggest dolphinarium with daily presentations, seals and penguins, an open wetland aviary you walk inside, and the vast ocean tank of seven million litres. The architecture is family-Calatrava: white canopies echoing water lilies. It crowns the Valencian family day — three hours its realistic minimum.
