Traditional Roman plates with dough made in the kitchen — the difference in texture is obvious.
A classic Roman osteria one street from the Trevi Fountain — one of the rare cases where a genuinely good restaurant stands inside Rome's most touristed area. The kitchen is traditional Roman with seafood: pasta made in house, grilled meat dishes, carpaccio, and mushroom risotto for vegetarians. The room is warm, with exposed brick, wooden beams and low light — an evening restaurant rather than a quick meal. Prices run mid to high, as you would expect for the location, but the value is fair next to its immediate neighbours. Open daily from eleven in the morning until near midnight. Note for Muslim travellers: this is a traditional Italian restaurant, not halal, and it serves alcohol and pork in Roman classics such as carbonara and amatriciana. Fish, vegetable and vegetarian pasta dishes are good choices here — and for a fully halal restaurant, see Luna Caprese.
