Flamboyant Park, officially Parque Flamboyant Lourival Louza, is an urban park in the Jardim Goiás district of southern Goiânia, near the Serra Dourada stadium, covering more than 125,000 square metres that once belonged to the Flamboyant Shopping Center. It is named after the businessman Lourival Louza, who donated parts of the area's land to the state, including the sites of the stadium and the racetrack, and built the capital's first shopping centre. The park opened in 2007 and has two lakes, one with an illuminated fountain, a walking track, a cycle path and a jogging track, an outdoor gym and playground, a wooden bridge, a lookout and inner paths. It preserves remnants of «veredas», the cerrado wetlands where buriti palms and native cerrado trees grow, and birds and other animals live on its lakes. Entry is free and it is open day and night, making it good for an evening stroll when Goiânia's heat eases, above all when the fountain is lit.
