**One of Spain's oldest bullrings and the most consequential in the history of the practice** — at the gorge's edge in the newer town. It was built in **1785** in stone, ⚠ **and its tiers are entirely roofed in timber on stone columns** — **which is rare**; **most rings are open**. ⚠ **Its historical importance lies in the rules rather than the building**: **here the Romero family in the 18th century developed what became the «Ronda school»** — ✅ **fighting on foot rather than on horseback**, **with defined rules and movements and the cape**; ⚠ **and that is the form that became known worldwide**. ⚠ **Bullfights are held here only rarely** — **roughly once a year at the *Corrida Goyesca***, in 18th-century dress. ✅ **Today it is a museum and a visitor site.**
