Tartaruga, the «Turtle» beach, is a beach in Armação dos Búzios on Rio de Janeiro state's coast, known for its warm, calm water with almost no waves, and named after the sea turtles often seen there. Boat tours around Búzios's beaches stop here, so it can get busy; the quieter left-hand corner is recommended. It can also be reached by water taxi, simple stalls sell food and drinks on the sand, and it is known for its sunsets. The beach suits calm swimming and watching the turtles, especially for families. Don't approach or feed the turtles, and keep a respectful distance from marine life.
