Radavc Cave, also called the Sleeping Beauty Cave, is a limestone cave in the village of Radavc about 11 km from the city of Peja in western Kosovo. It lies to the left of the Peja to Rožaje road, in the foothills of the Prokletije mountains. The cave was discovered in 1968, and archaeologists are studying Neolithic human remains found inside, about six thousand years old. Near its entrance the White Drin river springs from a rock face, forming a small waterfall in the forest, one of the loveliest natural sights in the area. You walk through passages lit in different colours, among stalactites, stalagmites and limestone formations shaped like small terraces of pools. Some halls open out like theatres, their wet walls shining under the lights. The air inside stays cool all year. Peja is about 9 km away in a straight line, and the White Drin spring waterfall under half a kilometre. Bring a light jacket for the cool interior, and watch the wet floor.
