Shenzhen's largest mosque and home of the city's Islamic Association, completed in 2013 over about three thousand square metres in the Islamic architectural style, in the Meilin area north of Futian. The mosque has a main prayer hall, ablution rooms, a garden and association offices; hundreds of worshippers come daily, from China's own Muslims to foreign traders and residents, and it fills for Friday prayers at about 13:50, in Ramadan and at Eid. It's an important stop for Muslim travellers to Shenzhen, who find a place to pray and information on the city's halal restaurants, found nearby and in other districts. The mosque is open to worshippers; non-Muslim visitors should dress modestly and avoid prayer times. It's a short walk from Shangmeilin metro station.
