Bali's biggest and cheapest craft and souvenir market, a two-storey building packed with hundreds of small stalls, visited by tourists and retailers from across the island, on the road between Denpasar and Ubud and so easy to stop at. Here you find everything in Bali's other markets and more: fabrics and sarongs, Balinese shirts, baskets and bags, carvings and masks, paintings, accessories, soaps and scented oils, usually cheaper than in Ubud, especially in quantity. Entry is free and bargaining is essential, as opening prices are very high. There are food stalls around the market and a traditional local market opposite. Come in the morning, when it is cooler and sellers keen for a first sale, and set your budget in advance. It pairs with nearby Tegenungan waterfall.
