A zoo in the village of Singapadu between the south and Ubud, opened in 2002, with hundreds of animals from Indonesia and around the world in a green tropical setting: Sumatran tigers, orangutans, Komodo dragons, Sumatran elephants, lions, bears and many birds, along paths among trees and streams. The zoo is known for interactive activities children love: feeding some animals, daily shows, breakfasts or dinners among the animals, including breakfast beside the orangutans, night tours to see nocturnal animals, and close encounters with the elephants at separate prices. Entry is about three hundred and ninety-five thousand rupiah for foreign adults and about two hundred and eighty thousand for children, with special activities such as meals and night tours extra; booking online is sometimes cheaper. Bali's tourist levy, one hundred and fifty thousand rupiah per foreign visitor, is separate. Allow half a day and come in the morning, when the animals are more active. It is near the Bird Park in Singapadu, so the two can share a day with children, and it lies on the way to Ubud.

The zoo is bigger, with large animals and interactive activities; the Bird Park is calmer and more beautifully laid out. With children you can see both in one day, as they are close.
