A children's educational science park at the heart of Yogyakarta, steps from Kilometre Zero and Fort Vredeburg, counted among Indonesia's best learning places for families. Its name means the smart park. It has several buildings and sections: interactive halls on physics, space, energy and the human body, a planetarium, an educational water playground, areas where small children play and learn, and an exhibition on the history of education in Indonesia. Everything is hands-on, not just for looking. Tickets are modest, with small extra fees for some sections. It is usually closed on Mondays, and very busy with school trips on school-day mornings. It is ideal for families with children aged about five to twelve and needs half a day. Come after midday on a school day, or early in the morning in the holidays.
