The second park at Universal Orlando Resort, opened on 28 May 1999 as Universal's biggest investment in the area since the first park. It is built around the idea of exploration, with each area representing an «island» on a different theme. Visitors enter through the Port of Entry with its famous stone lighthouse and colourful bazaars, then move between islands of superheroes, dinosaurs, cartoons, legends and Kong. Its star is Hogsmeade and Hogwarts Castle from the world of Harry Potter, with streets topped with artificial snow, little shops and the famous castle ride, along with fast roller coasters among the best-known in America. One-day, one-park tickets start from about $124 and vary by date, per visitor guides. Give it a full day and head for the world of Harry Potter at opening, before the crowds build.
