Arena Pantanal is a multi-use stadium in Cuiabá, capital of Mato Grosso and gateway to the Pantanal. It was completed on 26 April 2014 and hosted four group-stage matches at the 2014 World Cup, then matches of the 2021 Copa América. It now holds about 42,800 spectators. Its road was not easy: in October 2013 its polystyrene insulation panels caught fire, with no one hurt, a day after the state governor warned it might not be ready in time, and on opening day 5,000 seats were still to be installed. Since 2015 it has been the home of Cuiabá Esporte Clube, which later rose to the top division, and the Aecim Tocantins indoor arena stands next door. You can see the stadium from outside for free, while the inside is for match and concert days, ticketed by programme. It suits football fans passing through on the way to the Pantanal or Chapada dos Guimarães.
