It is not a headline destination by itself, but it is an excellent addition if you are in the area or need a break. Half an hour covers it. Pair it with nearby Berger Straße or with a walk through the centre.
Very much so: free, safe and with open lawns. The Chinese garden is a quiet space where calm is expected, but the rest of the park is easy with children.
Spring and summer, roughly April to September, when the planting is at its best and the weather allows sitting outside. It stays open in winter, but the Chinese garden may be closed and the place is much plainer.

Bethmannpark is a quiet public park near central Frankfurt, best known for the Chinese garden inside it. That garden is walled in white, with a pond, a small bridge and wooden pavilions built in traditional Chinese style, laid out in the 1990s. It is free and open to all, and one of the few places in central Frankfurt where you feel real quiet. It suits a short break between two visits, or a family sit-down away from the noise of the city.

The park flowers strongly in April and May, which is the best time to come.
Open lawns where children can play safely away from the road.
