The DomQuartier is Salzburg's palace of power opened as one circuit: since 2014 passages rejoin what was the prince-archbishop's single realm โ the Residence staterooms where he ruled, received, and young Mozart played as employee, then its European picture gallery, then the cathedral's interior balcony overlooking the marble nave from on high, then its museum and St. Peter's treasures. The essence is "above the city from within it": you cross between buildings along their upper galleries, Salzburg's squares below you from their balconies โ a perspective ground-walkers never own. Two elegant hours for a rain day or baroque devotee โ Arabic audio is generally absent, so English is the kit.
