A park on the highest ridge of the Yuzhong peninsula, the heart of old Chongqing, called «Goose Ridge» because the narrow, steep ridge looks like a goose's neck. It began as the Li Garden, a villa built in 1909 by Li Yaoting, the first president of the Chongqing Chamber of Commerce, and became a public park after its restoration in 1958. Its best-known sight is the Liangjiang («Two Rivers») Tower, a seven-storey tower 41 m tall built in 1984 at about 380 m above sea level, which looks over the whole peninsula and the meeting of the Yangtze and Jialing rivers. There is also a Japanese-style garden for Chongqing's twin city of Hiroshima, and shows of tulips in spring and chrysanthemums in autumn. Entry is free and it is open from 8 am to 10.30 pm, and the tower is free from 8.30 am to 10 pm, per visitor guides. Evening is the best time to see the city lights from the top.
