The loveliest walk in Zhangjiajie park, following a clear stream along the floor of a narrow valley between towering stone pillars and thick forest, named after Golden Whip Rock, which stands on its bank like a giant column. The trail is mostly flat and paved, so it suits families and older visitors; it takes two to three hours and passes small bridges, clear pools and rocks with folk names, to the sound of water and birds. Wild macaques live along it and approach visitors for food, so don't feed them, and keep bags and snacks out of reach, as they may snatch what's in your hand. The trail is included in the national park ticket, about CNY 240 for four days, per visitor guides. Start from the park gate and walk downstream, then ride the Bailong Elevator up to Yuanjiajie.
