L'Hôtel du Collectionneur is a large five-star on Rue de Courcelles near Parc Monceau, designed throughout in the Art Deco manner of the 1920s — although the building itself is relatively recent. The idea is to evoke the house of a collector from that period, which is where the name comes from. The practical value of the hotel is space. Rooms here are noticeably larger than the Paris average, and there are genuine family rooms that take four people without becoming cramped — a chronic problem in central Paris hotels, where a “family room” often means two extra beds in a space that cannot carry them. That makes it the logical middle point: a level close to the great palaces, at clearly lower prices, and with more space than most of them offer. The location is relatively quiet but central: the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs-Élysées are walkable, Parc Monceau is minutes away, and several metro stations are close.
