The Museum of Contemporary Art of the University of São Paulo was founded in 1963 with a donation from the Matarazzo collection and now holds more than 8,000 works, including paintings by Modigliani, Picasso, Chagall and the Brazilian Tarsila do Amaral. It is housed by Ibirapuera Park in a building designed by Oscar Niemeyer that once served the traffic department, with a panoramic terrace on the eighth floor overlooking the city. Entry is free Tuesday to Sunday 10:00-21:00.
