Praia do Tombo is a short beach of about 900 metres in Guarujá's Jardim Las Palmas district, between Guaiúba and Astúrias beaches and away from the bustle of the city. The shape of its seabed gives it strong waves, making it the local surfers' favourite, and it has hosted national and international surf championships. It holds the international Blue Flag for clean beaches for the sixteenth season in a row (2025/2026), more certifications than any other beach in South America, and it is the only Blue Flag beach in São Paulo state. Five kiosks line the sand, and swimming needs care when the waves are up.

Its waves are strong enough for surf contests, so swim with care when the sea is up.
