For the art lover: the combined ticket (Old Masters + Fin-de-Siècle + Magritte) with a half-day set aside. Short on time: Magritte alone (ninety minutes) is the most globally distinctive, or the Old Masters for Bruegel and Rubens devotees. All three are in connected buildings on the Place Royale.

The Royal Museums of Fine Arts are Belgium's largest art complex, on the Place Royale: they comprise the Old Masters Museum (Flemish art from the fifteenth to eighteenth centuries), the Fin-de-Siècle Museum (Belgian art 1868–1914), and the separately ticketed Magritte Museum — all in connected buildings. The Old Masters' stars: Pieter Bruegel the Elder with "The Fall of the Rebel Angels" and "The Census at Bethlehem" (the largest Bruegel collection after Vienna), Rubens with his huge canvases, Van Dyck, Bosch, Memling, and Jacques-Louis David's most famous work "The Death of Marat". The Fin-de-Siècle Museum gathers Symbolism and Art Nouveau (Khnopff, Ensor, Horta) from Belgium's loveliest era. One ticket covers Old Masters and Fin-de-Siècle; the combined ticket with Magritte saves. Worth a half-day for the art lover — free on the first Wednesday afternoon of the month.
