The story of a father-daughter art-dealing pair who loved what they sold and kept its finest: Angela Rosengart and her father Siegfried gathered through lifetime friendships — Picasso painted Angela five times himself — a treasure they opened to the public in 2002 in an elegant former bank: fifty Picassos and a hundred and twenty-five Klees under one roof. The ground floor gives mature Picasso in warm family abundance — portraits, the late nudes, and Duncan's intimate photographs of his daily life — the vaulted basement holds Klee's magically precise works on paper, with chosen Cézannes, Monets and Chagalls between. The ideal one-hour museum: world density without wing fatigue, steps from station and bridge — Lucerne's art pairing with its Kunsthaus for the deeper diver.
