The new branch of the Shanghai Museum in Pudong, on Century Avenue opposite the Science and Technology Museum. Building began in 2017, its bronze hall opened in February 2024, and it opened fully in December of that year; it was designed by a team from Tongji University. With about 113,000 square metres of floor space, nearly three times the old museum building on People's Square, over six floors above ground, its large galleries show the museum's treasures of bronzes, ceramics, painting and calligraphy, along with interactive spaces. Entry is free and individual visitors need no booking, though some interactive spaces must be booked; it is open from 10 am to 6 pm, last entry 5 pm, closed on Tuesdays, per visitor guides.
