A quirky shopping centre in the heart of Sukhumvit, opened in 2011 and themed as an airport, so each floor is a gate to a world city: Rome, Paris, Tokyo, London, Istanbul, San Francisco and more, decorated to mimic their streets and landmarks, from a red Golden Gate Bridge to Istanbul bazaars and Tokyo streets. It holds hundreds of small and mid-sized fashion and accessory shops at fair prices, younger in feel than Siam's luxury malls, a cinema and many restaurants. Its best-known feature is the Pier 21 food court on an upper floor, with Thai dishes at very low prices paid by prepaid card, including halal stalls. Children love taking photos among each floor's sets. Entry is free and it opens daily from ten in the morning until ten at night. Bangkok's big malls usually have prayer rooms and halal counters in their food courts, so ask at the information desk. The long escalators between floors are part of the experience. Getting there could not be easier: it connects directly to BTS Asok and MRT Sukhumvit stations, one stop from Soi Arab.
